Since February 2020, I have been working from home, so my days are really busy with meetings all day, with little time for myself. Sometimes I felt so tired and down because all I was doing was working, and I wasn’t doing anything fun.
After a few months, I decided to take action, start taking time for the activities and things I love, and maintain a happy balance.
Easy Tips to Practice Self Care (self-love and self-care )
1. Schedule 30 minutes to an hour to move your body
Include a 30- to 40-minute workout in your daily routine; this is essential for maintaining a healthy body and mind. Nothing helps more when you are having a busy or stressful day than moving your body.
In my case, I follow a YouTube body influencer who provides weekly free workout guides that are easy to follow, and they have been amazing. These workouts help me maintain my busy routine and provide me with a lot of energy.
If you are not into hard workouts, you can try yoga, Pilates, or even go for a nice long walk or run; the idea is to move your body. Trust me, this will help you a lot.
Remember that physical activity is one of the most important things for your body and mental health.
2. Start a New Hobby
I know that we hear this a lot, and sometimes we don’t have the time, but if you want to do something, you need to stop with excuses and start working on your dreams and projects.
I have wanted to start my beauty blog and Instagram account for a long time, and I always found excuses for not doing it. Finally, I decided it was time to put in some effort.
I have to say that the experience has been excellent. I have had the opportunity to try new products, meet new people, share my experiences, and help others. Starting this hobby gave me the chance to do something different.
I love that I have something to look forward to every day, different from my typical workday; I get to talk to people, share reviews and experiences, prepare my content, and more.
Find your passion and do it !! Even if it is just a couple of hours during the week, do what you are most passionate about.

3. Find a day during the week and take care of your skin and body
We need time to take care of our mind, body, and skin.
For example, my self-care days typically occur on the weekends. I have a consistent morning and nighttime skincare routine, but the weekends are when I really go all out.
I love having a day when I can do my favorite treatments; I do a full-body exfoliation, take care of my nails, shave, and so on.
Find that day and dedicate a few hours; this benefits your skin, body, and mind. This kind of ritual helps me feel better, younger, and healthier.

4. Organize your time and tasks
You can not practice self-care if you don’t take the time to organize and prioritize your tasks. For example, you can start with something small; I have a book planner where I write down quickly what I want to do during my week.
My days since the pandemic have been pretty similar. Still, I tried to incorporate other tasks, such as those I mentioned earlier, my workouts, going for walks with my dog, working on my social media content, cooking, and spending time with my partner, among others.
Be organized; this is your life, and it’s essential to make space for the things you love; if you don’t make time for them, you will not feel happy, leading to stress and depression.
A tip: I like writing down my days and plans. I know it sounds a bit excessive, but this is my way of ensuring I have a plan for all my activities.
