Hola Beauties! Wet N Wild Beauty updated the formula, packing, and added new color stories to their famous Color Icon Eyeshadow Palettes. I couldn’t resist trying them and letting you know my thoughts. Here is a review of the new Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette.
They added four new shades to the 10 Pan collection, Nude Awakening, Heart & Sol, Call Me Sunshine, and Lights Off. I got 3 of them since Nude Awakening is very similar to the old one, and I already had it in my collection.
At the same time, they also have new 5 Pan Eyeshadows with six different color stories; I had to restrict myself not to get them all 🙈 so I got one called Walking On Eggshells.
This review will focus on the 10 Pan Eyeshadows. I will talk about the 5 Pan shadows in a different blog.

This post is all about NEW Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palettes Review
Wet N Wild Color Icon Packaging ⭐⭐⭐
Packaging is slightly different, but it’s the same concept as the old ones; they are still using a similar plastic box but white instead of black. At the same time, it looks a bit ticker; however, the eyeshadow pans are a bit bigger, which is always a plus.
My only complaint about the packing, some of the pressed shadows in Lights Off Palette were not glued well, and they are falling off the palette, so I have to be very careful; here, the quality is not the best.
Another point to mention, the shades don’t have a name, so it will be nice to have some description in the back for reference.
Wet N Wild Color Icon Formula and Shades ⭐⭐⭐.5
The formula in the palettes is not very consistent; some palettes have better quality than others.
Matte Eyeshadows ⭐⭐⭐
The mattes in these palettes are not very pigmented; some are better than others, but you need to build them up. The darker shades are sheer, and you have to go back and forth to see the color on your lid; I found some of them a little patchy. I’ll go into more detail below.
There is a lot of quick back from the shadows, so prepare for fall out. The formula feels buttery to the touch; some of the shades blend nicely, but still, you have to work with them, so be patient.
Let’s go into detail with each eyeshadow palette.
Heart & Sol Mattes
This is probably my favorite palette from the bunch. The color story is beautiful, a combination of pink and warm tones. This palette has six mattes. The darker shades look intense in the palette, but once you try to create a look, they are very sheer on the lid; you need to work on that dark pink shade.
The other shades are not bad; they blend nicely.
Call me Sunshine
This palette got my attention since I don’t have a story like this in my collection, a combination of yellows and greens. This palette has four mattes, and as I mentioned before, they are very sheer, which I don’t mind because they blend well.
The dark brown has no pigmentation and is patchy, so this shade was a big NO in this palette.
Lights Off
This is a lovely cool tones palette; it has brown, black, grey, and dark green shades, a really interesting color story. There are four mattes, and one has glitter, which I am not a fan of. I think this palette is nice for a night-out look, but it was my least favorite.
When you swatch the eyeshadows, they look pigmented, but they are hard to work with, and there is a lot of patchiness.
Shimmers and Metallic Eyeshadows ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The shimmers are nice in these palettes; some are not very pigmented; again, they are not consistent with the formulation, but I was pleased with most of them.
I recommend applying these shadows with a wet brush; it brings the shade pigmentation to a new level.
Heart & Sol
My favorite shade is the third one in the picture, a beautiful orange with gold.
Call me Sunshine
There are four metallics and two shimmers in this palette. The metallics are beautiful and have great pigmentation. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the green shimmer; it looks so pretty in the pan but has cero pigmentation and does not show up on the lid, no matter what you do.
My favorite shade is that beautiful metallic gold.
Lights off
Final Thoughts
Okay, Beauties, I have to say that I was expecting more from these palettes since the old version is so good.
As you can tell, my favorite palette was Heart & Sol; I think this is a beautiful pink palette that you can use during summer and bring to fall. Call me Sunshine was also pretty; if you are patient, you can create beautiful looks with it.
Here are some looks I created with both palettes, simple but still perfect for every day.
These palettes retail for 5.99 USD, 7.50 CAD, which I still think is a great price; nowadays, it is tough to find makeup that works under 10. I think both palettes are super cute. Yes they need more work with the dark shades, but if you are new to makeup and prefer to start with sheer shadows and build them up, you will enjoy them
