It is essential to have a good and effective skincare routine. We can get a little out of control and layer many products at once, but occasionally, it is good to go back to the basics and establish a routine that will yield the desired results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This skincare routine is ideal for those starting or looking to upgrade their current routine. It has fantastic, affordable options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Cleanser<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Cleanser is your first step. It’s essential to clean your face to remove any impurities, dirt, and makeup from your skin before applying the rest of your products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An important consideration when choosing a cleanser is to opt for gentle and non-drying products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have 2 products that are my favorites at the drugstore; they are hydrating and gentle, leaving your skin with a pleasantly fresh and clean sensation without drying it out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Exfoliation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This step is essential once or twice a week, depending on how your skin reacts. It will clean congested pores and help with pigmentation and skin texture. AHA is great for improving pigmentation and skin texture, while BHA penetrates deeper into the pores and helps eliminate excess oil (e.g., reducing blackheads).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My favorite affordable BHA is from Paula’s Choice<\/strong>.<\/strong>\u00a0It is the\u00a02% BHA Liquid Salicylic Acid Exfoliant, <\/strong>which\u00a0<\/strong>I use three<\/span> times a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Toner<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Some people may not find it essential to add toner to their routine; however, toners are great for balancing your skin, providing extra hydration, and plumping. Try to find toners that contain no alcohol and have no strong fragrances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are many serums, so you must first validate your skin concern and then proceed accordingly. For example, my concerns are skin texture, pigmentation, and fine lines\/wrinkles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
