Hola Beauties! There are many skincare habits I wish I had started or stopped earlier than I did. In this blog, we will talk about 5 skincare changes you need to start doing in your 20s or 30s, depending on where you are now. Remember, the earlier you start, the better the results!

This post is about Skincare Habits to start in your 20s and 30s.
1. Stop using makeup wipes
This is one of those habits I wish I had stopped earlier, but unfortunately, it wasn’t until my early 30s that I realized how bad makeup wipes are. I know they are convenient, but they are not the best for your skin; most of them contain alcohol and chemicals that, with time, can damage your skin barrier, creating irritation and dryness and disrupting your skin pH balance.
Reduce the use of makeup wipes as much as possible; instead, try other methods if you are in a hurry, like makeup remover cloths. They work fantastically, don’t damage your skin, and are reusable.

2. Double cleansing
Double cleansing sounds like a lot of work, but if you use makeup daily, you need to incorporate this step into your skincare routine.
If I am honest, I didn’t start doing double cleansing until probably 3 years ago, which is crazy since I used to do my makeup every single day before the pandemic began.
But what is double cleansing? It is washing your face with 2 different types of cleansers.
You can use a makeup cloth, cleansing balm, or oil-based cleanser to remove your makeup, and then right after, use a water-, gel-, or lotion-based cleanser to remove any makeup residue or dirt from your face.
I use a cleansing balm with a makeup cloth, and once all my makeup is removed, I continue with a gentle cleanser.

3. Sunscreen
If you read any of my other blogs about skincare, you know that sunscreen is probably one of the most critical steps in your skincare routine. Sunscreen is even more important than moisturizer because it protects you from the sun’s UV rays, which cause premature fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation changes, skin texture changes, and CANCER!
So if you are in your 20s and are not using sunscreen, you need to start immediately! Just because you are young does not mean you are not damaging your skin; over the years, you will start seeing the damage, and then it’s too late.
I started using sunscreen daily in my mid-20s, and I swear that’s why, in my 40s, my fine lines and wrinkles are minor. Even though I am very strict with my sunscreen, I still have minor sun damage on my face.

4. Consistent skincare routine
It’s essential to have a consistent skincare routine if you want to see results. You can start with a basic skincare routine, but stick to it; consistency is the key. If you are constantly changing products, not applying sunscreen, or not following an AM and PM routine, you will not see results.
Remember to get products for your skin type and concerns, and not what is popular.
5. Start using anti-aging products
Start using anti-aging products as soon as you can. You don’t need to be in your 40s or 50s to incorporate ingredients into your skincare routine to prevent signs of aging like wrinkles and pigmentation; the earlier you start, the better!
Antioxidants and sun protection are crucial in your 20s and 30s, so try to incorporate products with Vitamin C and Niacinamide.
If you want to fight early signs of fine lines and wrinkles, Peptides and Retinols are your best friends. With Retinol, start with a lower concentration, see how your skin reacts, and go from there.
