Nars is known for many holy grail products. I have tried some of them, but this is the first foundation I purchased from this brand.
I love hydrating foundations; that’s my preference. For me, it’s all about radiance and healthy-looking skin, so I needed to try this one, even though it is a little pricey for what I am always looking for.
I have seen many reviews, some great, some okay, and some bad, but we all know that everything works differently, so here is my experience with the Nars Light Reflecting Foundation.
This post is about Nars Light Reflecting Foundation
1. Packaging
Nars packing is effortless yet sophisticated. Most products are packaged in black containers with the logo on top, unless they have a limited-edition version in different colors. This foundation is no exception; it comes in a rectangular glass bottle with a black hard plastic lid and a black pump.
The bottle contains 1 fl oz, which is the standard foundation size. I have nothing bad to say about the packing; it is lightweight, and I like that it has a pump; that’s always a plus.

2. Formula
This liquid foundation has a thick consistency but blends effortlessly. I used a brush and a sponge, and both gave good results; however, I preferred the finish with the brush. You can use the sponge to retouch those areas that are difficult to blend with a brush.
The foundation is formulated with 70% skincare ingredients, improving complexion over time with daily use. Some of the ingredients are Cacao Peptides and Milk Thistle (reduce the effects of environmental aggressors), Biomimetic Oat (Reduce redness and soothe skin), and Japanese Lilyturf (Maintain moisture).
It is great that this foundation has all those ingredients, but it’s hard to know whether it works in the end. Now that I work from home, I don’t wear makeup every day (probably most of us don’t), and, to be honest, I think it is essential to have a consistent skincare routine and to use foundation as a skin enhancer.
If you wear makeup every day, this foundation offers excellent all-day benefits.

3. Shades
This foundation has 36 shades for Light, Medium, Medium-Deep, and Deep tones. I got mine in M2.5 Sahel Warm Undertone and Peach tones.
I was a bit worried initially because the shade looked a little darker, but once I blended it, it matched my skin tone perfectly. In my experience, finding the correct shade was easy, and it worked great. Remember that it’s important to know your tone and undertone to find your right match.
4. Results
Coverage
This is 100% a medium-coverage foundation; you can still see some of your imperfections coming through. Even though the formula is a little thick, it does not feel heavy on the skin.
I noticed redness and some small blemishes showing through, but some of my acne scars came through, which is fine for me since I’m not into full coverage; I love more natural finishes.
FINISH
The finish is natural and dewy; I noticed some areas of my face reflecting more light, but it’s not mind-blowing.
I had a bit of a hard time blending the foundation around my nose, since this is the part where I get the oiliest, and it took me some work to make it look good.
Overall, the finish was pretty, but it did not impress me; I can get the same results with a more affordable option.
LONGEVITY
Before I start, it’s important to mention that I have combination skin: my T-zone is very oily, other areas are dry, and some are normal.
When I tested this foundation, I prepped my skin with my usual skincare routine, serums, moisturizer, sunscreen, and a hydrating primer. After 9 hours of testing, the foundation looked great; I was very impressed by the longevity. I had to retouch my t-zone a couple of times, but not out of the ordinary for me.
Around the nose, the foundation did not last as long, but I had the same problem with most products; my t-zone is crazy oily, but the rest of my face looked perfect.
Here is a look at my makeup in artificial and natural light.

SKIN REACTION
I have sensitive skin, and this product worked great, with no breakouts, allergies, or adverse skin reactions.
5. Price
This foundation is a bit pricey; it retails for 49 USD, 65 CAD.

Final Thought
Okay Beauties, this foundation is good, but it is not incredible; I like the formula, and the finish is pretty, but it wasn’t amazing to make this product a holy grail. I do have to say that the longevity is impressive!
In my opinion, this is an okay foundation, but not enough for me to repurchase it. There are many affordable options that perform similarly for a fraction of the price. You can see detailed information Here.
I hope you enjoy this Nars Light Reflecting Foundation Review, and let me know your thoughts in the comments section.
Love you all ❤
