We had so many incredible makeup products at the drugstore that it is crazy to think that companies managed to provide us with amazing products to try despite everything that was going on. Here is the list of products that, in my opinion, are the Best Drugstore Makeup from 2020.

Best Drugstore Primers
- Catrice Keep me Matt: This primer is great if you have oily or combination skin. I use it in my T-zone, where I get most of the oil, and it works great keeping my skin matt. The formula is very smooth and absorbs quickly.
- Hard and Candy Hydrating Primer: This product is amazing at keeping your skin hydrated. The formula feels a little bit sticky, which helps your makeup to stay in place.
- Elf Cosmetics Pore Putty Primer: This product is great for smoothing the appearance of your pores. I like to use this primer in my problem areas and apply a considerable amount to see better results.
- Milani Soft Focus Glow: This lotion is great when you want a dewy look. I normally mixed it with other primers as an extra step for a radiant finish.
Best Drugstore Foundations
Four foundations stole the show for me in 2020. I selected these products because, in my opinion, the formula, longevity, and finish are fantastic. Here are foundations that are part of my Best Drugstore Makeup from 2020.
- Catrice HD Liquid Foundation: Full Coverage, Matte Finish . This foundation is perfect for those glam days. The formula feels very comfortable on the skin, even if it is full coverage. I normally use a hydration primer since my skin can get a bit dry.
- Nyx Cosmetics Born to Glow: Medium to Full coverage; you can build it up. It provides a beautiful glowy finish, super comfortable on the skin.
- ColourPop Pretty Fresh Foundation: Medium Coverage, Natural – Dewy Finish. This foundation is great; I love how beautiful my skin looks, the finish is not as dewy as the NYX one, but it gives this healthy look that is just beautiful.
- Revlon Candid Foundation: Medium Coverage, Matte Natural Finish. This is my absolute favorite foundation from 2020. The formula is super lightweight, feels so nice on the skin, gives a beautiful natural look, and lasts all day.
Best Drugstore Concealers
Here are 3 of the concealers that, in my opinion, were the Best Drugstore Makeup from 2020. These are the ones that I tried :
- Revlon Candi Concealer: This product is amazing, provides great coverage, gives the most beautiful finish, is not dry, doesn’t crease, and lasts all day.
- Elf Cosmetics Camo Concealer: Gives full coverage, lasts all day but can be a little dry for some people, so another great option is the Hydrating one.
- CoverGirl Trueblend Concealer: very similar results to the camo concealer, full coverage, the formula is a bit thicker so can be a little dry but still is a great product.
Best Drugstore Powders
I tried two setting powders, and, in my opinion, they are some of the best drugstore powders from 2020.
- Halo glow setting powder: This loose powder provides a beautiful glow. I usually use this product after I set my makeup to give an extra glow to my skin.
- Revlon PhotoReady Candid anti-pollution: This is another loose powder that gives a great matte finish without looking powdery or cakey. I don’t have problems with flashbacks, and it makes me smooth and flawless.
Best Drugstore Blushes
This year, I tried many blushes, but these are the ones that I loved and considered Best Drugstore Makeup from 2020; their formula is buttery, they blend beautifully, lasts all day, and are super affordable.

- Colourpop Pressed Powder in Palatial
- Elf Cosmetics Primer Infused Blush in Always Rosy
- Catrice Cosmetics Blush Box in Bronze
- Essence Makeup The Blush in Beloved
- Bite-Size Face Duo in Pomegranate and White Peach
Best Drugstore Highlighters
These three highlighters are so pretty; their formula is so soft to the touch, pigmented, and they blend beautifully; what I like about them is how flattery they look.
- Milani Baked Highlighter in Champagne D’Oro: You can build this highlighter for an intense look or a more natural finish.
- Essence Makeup Pure Nude Highlighter Palette in Highlighter Reload : This palette is amazing and comes with 4 different shades for an incredible price, the same as the Milani one; you can build it for a more intense finish.
- Catrice Sun Gasm Face and Body Highlighter: This highlighter is intense, so a little bit goes a long way. The pan is huge since it is a face and body product; also, the price is on point.
Best Drugstore Bronzers
These four bronzers are amazing; they blend like a dream, I had no problem with patchiness, and they are so buttery.
- Essence Matt Bronzing Powder in Sunny: Very subtle bronzer gives a natural look and also smells like coconut. 🥥
- Milani Silky Matte Bronzer in Sun-Kissed: More intense bronzer but blends beautifully; you can build it up to your ideal look; it also smells like vanilla.
- Essence Sun Club Matt Bronzing Palette: This palette has 4 different shades; I like mixing them to obtain my perfect one; this bronzer also gives a very natural look, but if you have a more intense one, you can build it up.
- Catrice Sun Gasm Luminizing Bronzer in Bronzed Euphoria: This is a glowy bronzer; I love using this when I want a dewy finish look; perfect for summertime.
Best Drugstore Eyeshadows
Eyeshadows are my favorite makeup product; I tried so many the past year, and it was hard for me to choose just one or two, so instead, I want to give you a few options to choose from.
Colourpop
Colourpop was the brand that I tried for the first time last year; some palettes did not impress me ( Check my review for the Peach and Honey palettes ), but others I loved !!!
The formula is amazing; they blend so easily, the shimmers are so intense, and a beautiful color story.

Elf Cosmetics
Elf really impressed me this year with these eyeshadows; they are all so good; the formula is great, especially for the price point !!! One of them is only 3 Dollars, that’s incredible.

Best Drugstore Mascara
I tried a few mascaras this year, but these two products really impressed me in 2020.
- Loreal Air Volume Mascara: I love how my lashes look with this mascara, It provides great volume and length, it doesn’t smudge, is not clumpy, and it’s effortless to remove. You can build it and have dramatic lashes.
- Essence Volume Booster Lash Primer: I really really like this product; it provides the most amazing length and boosts any mascara! The best, it is infused with acai oil and mango Butter. The primer is white but doesn’t worry; it goes away once you apply your mascara on top.
Best Drugstore Lipsticks
I tried a few lipsticks this year, but these are the shades that I really loved wearing; I love nude colors, so there is one on the list, but I got out of my comfort zone and tried some other shades; here are the ones that I really enjoyed. The formula is really nice, they feel very comfortable, and they are not dry.
- Milani Color Statement Matte Lipstick in Matte Confident
- Maybelline Color Sensational in Crazy for Coffee
- Maybelline Color Sensational in Space for Me
- Elf Cosmetics Satin Lipstick in Cider
Lip-gloss
I tried one product last year, and I’m obsessed with the Maybelline Lifter Glosses. These lip glosses are absolutely stunning! They are so comfortable to wear; the lips don’t feel sticky; on the contrary, they feel hydrated since this product contains Hyaluronic Acid. At the same time, they have this great vanilla scent.
Best Drugstore Setting Sprays
There are 3 products that I tried last year, and I really enjoyed them.
- Milani Make it Last Matte Finish: I really like this product; it really helps to prolong your makeup; the applicator is a bit harsh, in my opinion, so I recommend having a nice distance when you apply it, but overall, it is a great setting spray.
- Maybelline Glass Spray: I love using this spray when I want an intense glow. The applicator is great, a nice fine mist; however, I recommend shaking it before application and covering your eye makeup since the formula is a little oily. A little bit goes a long way, so don’t apply too much, or you will look very, very shiny.
- Elf Dewy Setting Spray: This spray gives a beautiful glow; the applicator is not as fine as the Maybelline one, so try to have a distance for better results. I also like that it has a nice coconut scent.
