Here are a few changes Iโve made to my routine over the past few years that have genuinely helped improve my skin. Theyโre simple, effortless habits, but when you stay consistent, they can make a big difference. In my experience, these are the kinds of changes that actually work and lead to glowy, healthy-looking skin over time.

1. Drink at least 8 glasses of water
We hear this constantly, but for good reason! I always ensure that I drink my 8 glasses of water daily; my skin looks healthier, brighter, and hydrated. You can have a great skincare routine, but you will not see the results if you don’t drink the water your body needs.
Water is essential because it provides natural hydration and delivers nutrients to our muscles and cells. Additionally, if you need a little extra motivation to drink water, remember that meeting the recommended daily intake can aid weight loss.
Yes, it is not easy, especially when you have to go to the bathroom multiple times, but you will feel and look much better.
Since drinking 8 glasses of water wasn’t easy, I bought a gallon water bottle, which is your daily dose. I fill it up in the morning and make sure I drink it during the day.

2. Have a consistent Skin Care Routine
Skincare is essential; you need to be consistent with your routine. We see beauty influencers with 8 or 10 steps in their routines, but that is not necessary; if you have the essentials, you’re good to go.

For me, products that I always have in my Day and Night routine are :
- Cleanser
- Toner
- Serum
- Moisturizer
- Eye Cream
My routine changes depending on whether I am wearing makeup, the season, my hormones, and other factors. These are the 5 steps that you should at least add to your routine. Remember that to achieve glowy, healthy skin, use the right products and be consistent with your skincare routine.

3. Use SPF daily
Sometimes, thinking about the years I neglected sunscreen makes me kick myself, LOL. ๐
Sunscreen is probably the most important skincare product and, best of all, the easiest tip for healthier skin that you need to include in your morning routine. Whether it is cloudy or snowy, always use sunscreen, regardless of the location or weather conditions.
Here is why you MUST use sunscreen:
- If you don’t use sunscreen, UVA Rays can penetrate your skin, causing wrinkles, fine lines, and hyperpigmentation. I know people in their 20s who already have numerous wrinkles and skin problems because they don’t use sunscreen.
- If you have acne, scars will take longer to fade if you don’t use sunscreen; they can transform into dark spots.
- Exposure to the sun without protection can lead to dehydration and dryness, which can worsen acne.
If you use high-end skincare but don’t use sunscreen, you may not see any results.

4. Food and Supplements
Another essential factor for your skin is what you put in your body. I will not lie and say I don’t have my pizza, burgers, wine, etc.I love food; I am a foodie, but I am always mindful that we need moderation because it shows in our skin.

I started taking vitamins years ago. Since then, I have seen great results and have continued to use them. Vitamins complement your routine because skincare starts from the inside.
